Premature and low birth babies need to be shifted to NICU for better care and outcome of these babies depends on how they are shifted during this critical period. Lots of babies become serious during transportation as they don't get oxygen or ventilator support. During winter season lots of babies die because of hypothermia and many suffer from morbidities.
In and around Nashik City and in North Maharashtra Lots of Newborn babies, small and premature babies need to transfer to Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) for better treatment. But there was no dedicated ambulance specially designed for such small babies and that was the necessity of the region.
Dr. Aher's Neocare Hospital, Nashik has designed such an ambulance which has ultramodern equipments like Transport Incubator, Transport Ventilator, Multipara Monitors, Syringe Pumps, Oxygen, Suction machine and Inverter. All these equipments are mounted on a single collapsible trolley which can be wheeled to the NICU from the ambulance. This is a unique feature of this ambulance which was not available before in our region.
There will be one dedicated Pediatrician and a Neonatal Nurse, who will retrieve babies from peripheries and small towns even on ventilator support. We have already shifted babies on Ventilator from Dhule, Kopargaon and Mumbai.
